The year 2018 has been the time of smartphones with a notched display. Manufacturers attempted their best to remove as much screen domain as they could by making the notch littler. In the quest for bezel-less displays, we have seen manufacturers like Vivo and Oppo opting for a mechanical pop-up camera on the Nex and Find X smartphones separately. It presently shows up Asus may have a similar smartphone structure underway.

We can expect much more phones with bezel-less displays in the coming year. Samsung and Huawei have just begun the pattern by going for an all display set up with a hole at the corner for the selfie camera. We have seen such a setup on the Samsung Galaxy A8s and the Huawei Nova 4. The upcoming Honor V20 otherwise known as Honor View 20 is additionally affirmed to sport a similar structure.

Asus is by all accounts open to the two methodologies for a bezel-less smartphone if an ongoing patent filing is to be accepted. According to licenses filed at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) by Asus, the Taiwanese company might take a shot at a smartphone with a pop-up module or a display hole for the selfie camera.

These licenses were found by LetsGoDigital that demonstrate a smartphone with a pop-up camera module in three distinct sizes. The principal model has a little pop-up camera sufficiently huge for a single selfie camera, the second one is somewhat wider and can oblige in excess of a single camera module. The third model has a lot wider pop-up which can oblige various sensors for selfies and 3D Face recognition.

The second plan revealed in these licenses has a camera hole on the top left corner of the display similar to the Galaxy A8s and the Nova 4. The two structures seen in these licenses have a thin earpiece flame broil on the tiny bezel on top of the display.

While this hints Asus might take a shot at smartphones with such plans. It remains to be seen when these smartphones finally make it to the market.
